Section 22.01
Amendments
In accordance with the provisions of the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, P.A. 110 of 2006, as amended, the Village Council of the Village of Mayville may from time to time amend, or change by ordinance, the number, shape or area of districts established on the Zoning Map or the regulations set forth in the Ordinance; but no such amendment or change shall become effective unless the ordinance proposing such amendment or change shall first be submitted to the Village Planning Commission for approval, disapproval or suggestions and said Planning Commission shall have been allowed a reasonable time, not less than sixty (60) days, for consideration and report.
An amendment to the zoning district boundaries contained on the official Zoning Map (rezoning) may be initiated by the Village Council, the Planning Commission, or by the owner or owners of property which is the subject of the proposed amendment.
Amendments to the text of this Ordinance may be initiated by the Village Council, the Planning Commission, or by petition of one (1) or more residents or property owners of the Village.
All proposed amendments to the official zoning map or the provisions of this Ordinance shall be referred to the Planning Commission for public hearing and recommendation to the Village Council, prior to consideration thereof by the Village Council.
The Planning Commission may amend the future land use designations shown on the Village of Mayville Master Plan. An amendment may be initiated by the Planning Commission or by petition of one (1) or more residents or property owners of the Village.
